Closure for a bottle provided with a neck 9 having external threads, which closure is moulded in one piece from flexible plastic material and comprises a top part 4 and a downward-pointing edge part, the inner surface of which has corresponding threads 3, this design being characterised in that an annular sealing projection extends downwards from the top part 4, the projection 6 has a first, essentially cylindrical section 7 on the upper part 4 and the edge part 2 is connected thereto, and a second section 8 in the form of a truncated cone at the end of the first section 7 further away from the top part 4, the said conical section going radially inwards and ending in a circular free edge, and the inside diameter of the first section 7 being equal to or somewhat greater than the outside diameter in the bottle neck 9, which closure is to be affixed so that when the closure 1 is fastened with threads on the bottle neck 9, the second section 8 in the shape of a truncated cone fastens against the free end of the neck 9 and is bent backwards towards the first essentially cylindrical section 7 of the projection 6 and forms a gas-tight seal between the bottle neck 9 and the closure 1. <IMAGE>
