PURPOSE:To stabilize idle engine speed so as to improve the fuel consumption regardless of rotating speed of a steering wheel by controlling an idle adjusting valve according to a time from the ON time of a low side pressure switch to the ON time of a high side pressure switch for detecting oil pressure of a power steering device. CONSTITUTION:The oil pump 12 of a power steering device 8 is provided with a first pressure switch 26 which is a low side pressure switch to be ON at a low value of oil pressure, and a second pressure switch 28 which is a high side pressure switch to be ON at a high value and a middle value of oil pressure. When the first pressure switch 28 is ON, the timer of a control means 30 is set ON, when the second pressure switch 28 is ON, the timer is set OFF, and the step quantity of duty control to a ISC(idle.speed.control) valve 4 is controlled according to the time between them. Namely, when a steering wheel is quickly rotated, the step quantity of duty control is made large, and when it is slowly rotated, the step quantity is made small, and hence the engine speed at idle operation is stabilized. |
