PURPOSE:To shorten a size, in piston reciprocating motion direction of an engine even in the case of arrangement of a balancer, and carry out easily layout of other parts in a cowling for storing the engine. CONSTITUTION:In the engine 4 of an outboard motor provided in such constitution that a crank shaft 13 is arranged vertically in a crank case 11, and a piston 15 is stored in a cylinder body 12 connected to the crank case 11 while being capable of reciprocating motion, and also the piston 15 and the crank shaft 13 are connected t each other by a connecting rod 26, the engine 4 is stored in a cowling. In the crank case 11, a balancer 28 is arranged on a position nearly opposite to a piston 15 in relation to the crank shaft 13 in reciprocating motion direction of the piston 15, and the balancer 28 is rotating-driven by the crank shaft 13. |
