PURPOSE:To uniformize the magnetic properties of a grain oriented silicon steel sheet over the sheet-width direction and to improve surface characteristics. CONSTITUTION:At the time of producing a grain oriented silicon steel sheet, before or in the course of roughing in a hot rolling stage, respective parts at width-direction ends of a slab are cooled, according to a distance (mm) X from the endmost part, in a width direction, of the slab, by a temp. where a temp. difference deltaT( deg.C) between the central part, in a width direction, of the slab and the above parts satisfies an inequality 40-(5x)<1/2=deltaT<=75-(5x)<1/2>. Then edging of >=5% is done. |
