Device for processing an electrical signal originating from a sensor (10) of the derivative type intended to measure an electric or magnetic field, surface charge currents or other derived quantities, the electrical signal having a frequency spectrum comprising a band of frequencies higher than a low frequency f1, the device including - electronic means (20) for integrating a part of this signal comprising a part of the frequency spectrum situated above a predetermined high frequency f2, above f1; - compensation means (21), amplifying and integrating a part of the signal consisting of the parts of its frequency spectrum lying between the frequencies f1 and f2, these compensation means having a gain which is a decreasing function of the frequency in the frequency band between f1 and f2, and constant as a function of the frequency above f2, the device being characterised in that it comprises, downstream of the integration means (20), an optical channel (30) receiving the electrical signals originating from the integration means (20), converting them into optical signals and transmitting them over a distance in this form, and reproducing them in electrical form, the compensation means (21) being situated functionally downstream from the optical channel (30).
