METHOD FOR PRODUCING RED PIGMENT WITH CULTURED CELL OF LIMONIUM LATIFOLIUM O. KUNTZE

PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing a red pigment with a cultured cell of Limonium latifolium O. Kuntze capable of efficiently producing the red pigment from the cultured cell of the Limonium latifolium, O. Kuntze by adding a pigment production accelerator, nontoxic to the human body and capable of readily extracting and purifying the pigment thereto. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing a red pigment with a cultured cell of Limonium latifolium O. Kuntze sea is characterized by adding sodium chloride at 10-100mmol concentration to a liquid culture medium in culturing the cultured cell of the Limonium latifolium O. Kuntze in the liquid culture medium and producing the red pigment.
