PURPOSE:To provide a locking mechanism of an ink cassette used in an ink jet printer which disables detachment of an ink cassette except for exchanging thereof. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet printer comprises an arm 24 of which action enables the detection of the empty of an ink cassette 20, thereby the ink cassette 20 is to be exchanged. An ink cassette mechanism 30 employs a rotatable lever 25 and a biasing means 26 for biasing the lever 25 in one direction provided to the ink cassette 20 and a stopper 27, provided on the printer, which disables detachment of the ink cassette 20 by a constitution wherein the lever 25 is rotated against the biasing force of the biasing means 26 when loading and is stopped with the stopper 27. |
