A frame 1 comprises an on the whole radially projecting flange 2 which is adapted so as to lie on the surrounding roadway or the like, and a skirt 3 which can project telescopically down into the well pipe 4 or can extend as an extension above the latter without projecting telescopically down into the pipe.
