ELECTRODE LIFT CONTROLLER FOR ARC HEATING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode lift controller of an arc heating furnace which achieves excellent operability by simplifying the construction to facilitate adjustment. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is provided with an average current detection means 7 which detects current flowing through a plurality of electrodes 4 to determine a mean thereof, a set current-solid current comparison means 9 which compares the mean of the current detected by the means 7 with a preset value of current to output a control signal for lifting or lowering the electrode 4 according to a deviation thereof and a maximum current detection means 6 to detect the maximum of the current flowing through the electrodes 4. Then, a plurality of electrodes 4 are controlled to lift or lower in a batch so that the mean value of the current flowing the electrodes 4 reaches a current value preset while the maximum value of the current flowing through the electrodes 4 will not exceed the maximum allowable current value of a transformer 3 for a furnace.
