<p>PURPOSE:To exactly recognize and input handwritten characters simultaneously with entry without using an inputting device such as an optical character reader or a keyboard. CONSTITUTION:At the time of entering characters by using a writing instrument on which a pen grip is mounted, the pressure of fingers added to the writing instrument is measured by magnetic sensors 28a,...28c. The magnetic sensors 28a,...28c output the pressure change of the fingers as a waveform indicating the electric change to a CPU. The CPU divides the waveform into unit waveforms equivalent to one character, and analyzes the waveform characteristic at every unit waveform. Afterwards, the waveform characteristic of the entered characters is compared and collated with the preliminarily learned and stored waveform characteristic of each character of a writer. Therefore, the handwritten characters or the like can be exactly recognized simultaneously with the entry. The corresponding relation of the fingers to the magnetic sensors 28a,...28c is monitored by mercury switches 29a,...29c, so that the handwritten characters can be normally recognized even when the way of grip of the pen is changed.</p> |
