The power transmission arrangement uses the floating transformer (5), and an invertor (6) which drives a first transformer (8) with its secondary connected by a flexible lead to the primary of the floating transformer. The secondary of the floating transformer is connected to a third transformer (9) which supplies a rectifier circuit (7) connected directly to the load (Z). The secondary of the floating transformer has mechanical clearance from the core to avoid transmission of mechanical vibration. The magnetic flux over this space transmits some mechanical force. This is reduced if current in the floating transformer is reduced by the voltage step-up and step-down transformers on either side of the floating transformer. USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduced transmission of mechanical vibration to experimental platforms used in space experiments.
