<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the calculation number of times of a moving vector detection method. CONSTITUTION:An LPF 201 suppresses the high frequency components of the horizontal direction and the vertical direction of a temporally continuous image signal and outputs it. A centroid point memory 202 selects and stores the only picture element value of a prescribed centroid point from this output. A gradient calculation means 203 determines and outputs the space gradient fx, fy of the output image of the LPF 201. A straight line calculation means 204 determines the range where a moving vector is possible to exist as a straight line by the picture element value f (x, y, n) of the present frame that the LPF 201 outputs, the picture element value f (x, y, n-1) of the previous frame that the centroid point memory 202 and the space gradient fx, fy that the gradient calculation means outputs. A cumulative adder 205 cumulates the point on this straight line by the moving vector (u, v). A straight line per 1 centroid point is cumulated for the table of the cumulative adder 205. After this cumulative processing is executed for the all the centroid points, the frequency for every (u, v) is determined for the table and this is outputted as the existing possibility of the moving vector.</p> |
