The ribbon band, with a number of adjacent plastics insulation sleeves for respective wire leads, has an initial section (1) moulded via an injection moulding process and extended via an adjacent section. This is provided by displacing the initial section sidewards relative to the mould (5) before reintroduction for moulding the next section. At least one sleeve (3) of the initial section reintroduced in the mould is only partially formed during the initial moulding process, so that its formation is completed during the subsequent moulding process. ADVANTAGE - Efficient utilisation of mould capacity.
