New inter-species antibodies reactive with cellular antigens - present in all mammals and birds under conditions of stress, useful for treating, preventing or diagnosing e.g. tumours or virus diseases

Natural interspecies antibodies (Ab) can be assigned to different animal species (e.g.mammals and birds) and have restricted reaction with a cellular antigen inherent to all animals and birds under conditions of cellular stress. Very high levels of Ab may indicate a tumour. Ab present initially destroy some tumours cell, causing release of Ag ('reaction pattern in vertebrate cell antigens') which induce the immune system to produce more Ab. This corresponds to slow tumour growth and a good prognosis. USE/ADVANTAGE - Ab can be used in human or veterinary medicine for (1) preventing a pre-existing organ pattern; (2) for healing or preventing diseases associated with cell proliferation; (3) for diagnosing diseases of uncontrolled cell proliferation; or (4) for prepn. of highly purified, natural interspecies antigens (Ag) from solns. of biological materials. All mammals and birds produce functionally indistinguishable Ab.
