<p>A throttle closing mechanism for use with a semi-automatic vehicle transmission in which a cable (12, 13) is operatively connected between a throttle pedal (10) and a throttle valve (11) of an engine. The cable passes round a pulley (19) which is movable by an actuating means (30) to reduce the throttle setting during disengagement of an associated clutch for ratio changing. Movement of the pulley (19) by the actuating means (30) is disabled by movement of a pin (20) on which the pulley is mounted when the throttle valve is at or close to its idle setting to allow opening of the throttle to initiated clutch take-up on starting of the vehicle.</p> |
