PURPOSE:To obtain the subject treating agent capable of uniformly dyeing a textile material to a deep color by using a specific cationic polymer as a pretreating agent in dyeing the textile material with a pigment according to the exhaustion method. CONSTITUTION:A textile material is pretreated with a pretreating agent prepared by polymerizing (A) a cationic monomer, selected from compounds expressed by formula I [R is H or methyl; R1 is H or 1-4C alkyl ; R2 is 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C hydroxyalkyl, etc.; X is NH or O; A is CH2CH.(OH)CH2 or (CH2)m [(m) is 1-3]; Y<-> is monovalent anion} and formula II {Rj is same as that described above; R3 is 1-4C alkyl or (CH2CH2O)mH [(m) is 0-4]; Y is monovalent anion] and having benzyl group in the nitrogen atom or copolymerizing the component (A) with (B) an acrylamide or a methacrylamide expressed by formula III (R is same as that described above; R4 and R5 are same as R3) and (C) one of a compound expressed by formula IV (R is same as that described above; R6 and R7 are same as R2 or benzyl, etc.; X and A are same as those described above) or formula V and the pretreated textile material is then dyed with a pigment dispersed with an anionic surfactant according to the exhaustion method to afford the objective uniformly deep-color dyed product. |
