PURPOSE:To provide a filter circuit having a large number of taps without using a frame memory and many line memories which make a system expensive. CONSTITUTION:Picture data is inputted from an input terminal 301 to a filter operation part 302 in the order from the first line with one picture element as the unit. The filter operation part 302 reads out a coefficient from a filter coefficient memory 107 and executes a part of filter operation with picture element data and outputs the result to an intermediate result memory 304. The filter operation result of one line is, stored in the intermediate result memory 304. Next, the second line is inputted in order with one picture element as the unit, and the filter operation part 302 executes a part of filter operation between the coefficient in the filter coefficient memory 107 and picture element data. The intermediate result is read out from the intermediate result memory 304 in order with one picture element as the unit, and the filter operation result and the intermediate result are added to update the intermediate result, and it is stored in the intermediate result memory 304. When the filter operation for the set number of taps is terminated, the filter operation part 302 outputs the operation result from an output terminal 305. |
