PURPOSE:To remove and recover phosphoric acid adhering to wall faces of a flow route by tilting the bottom face of the passage groove in which a discharged gas flows to the gas flowing direction and installing a drain outlet in the most bottom part of the wall of a manifold in a discharged gas outlet. CONSTITUTION:While discharged air which is discharged out of an air electrode of a phosphoric acid type fuel cell flows in a passage groove 41 of a carbon plate 23 which composes a thermally conductive stack, heat exchange is carried out to heat flowing-in air through the plate 23 and the discharged air itself is cooled. Consequently, phosphoric acid mixed in the discharged air is cooled to the saturation temperature or lower, condensed, and adsorbed in the wall faces of the plate 23. The adsorbed phosphoric acid flows soon on the bottom face of the groove along the inclination tilting downward to the outlet open 43 from the inlet open 42, passes the discharged gas manifold, and is taken out to the outside through a drain pipe. Consequently, without the need of stopping the fuel cell system, the fuel cell system can be operated continuously for a long duration. |
