PURPOSE: To use recovered rhodium directly as a catalyst by recovering rhodium at a high yield without using a considerable device cost, expensive chemicals and auxiliary substances. CONSTITUTION: For recovering rhodium from the distillation residues of the oxo synthesis products, the residue or a starting material contg. the residue is treated with oxygen or an oxygen-contg. gas in the presence of a 2-5C monocarboxylic acid and of an alkali metal salt of a 2 to 5C monocarboxylic acid. The rhodium is subsequently extracted with water as a water-soluble compd.
