A dispersion of a photographic additive in a hydrophilic colloid having improved stability against the formation of crystals by incorporated into the oil phase of the dispersion prior to mixing, less than 2 percent by weight, based on the weight of the oil phase, of a compound having the formula <IMAGE> wherein R, R1, R2, R3, and R4 are independently selected from alkyl including linear, branched or in substituted alkyl having from 1 to 25 carbon atoms, the substituents being aryl, halo, cyano; aryl, including substituted aryl, the substituents being alkyl or halo; wherein addition to the above, R may also be a siloxane or polysiloxane to give a branched molecule; and in addition to the above, R3 and R4 may also be alkoxy and m and n have values from 0 to 5000.
