PURPOSE:To provide an air bag device for a front passenger's seat with such structure as to absorb impact load sufficiently at the time of the impact load being applied toward a container from a lid mounting bracket. CONSTITUTION:A lid mounting bracket 28A is rigidly fixed to the upper face of a container 12, and a lid fitting part 26, the rear extended part of the backup plate 22 of a lid 14, is fixed to the lid mounting bracket 28A. The longitudinal center part of the lid mounting bracket 28A is partially folded downward to provide a load transmission member 50. The tip of this load transmission member 50 is in contact with the upper face of the container 12. Accordingly, at the time of impact load being applied toward the container 12 form the lid mounting bracket 28a, this impact load is transmitted to the container 12 through the load transmission member 50, and this impact load is sufficiently absorbed by the plastic deformation of the upper face part of the container 12. |
