PRODUCTION OF HYDROGENATED BISPHENOLS

摘要

PURPOSE:To produce hydrogenated bisphenols in high yield by hydrogenating bisphenols under relatively mild conditions in a short time using a relative inexpensive catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Bisphenols such as bisphenol A are hydrogenated in a hydrogen gas-containing atmosphere using a catalyst prepared by supporting an alkaline earth metal and nickel in an amounts so as to provide 0.1-15wt.% alkaline earth metal based on the nickel on a diatomaceous earth carrier to produce the corresponding hydrogenated bisphenols.
