<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a controller for a vehicle which permits the simple constitution and cost reduction, maintaining the essential fail-safe function. CONSTITUTION:A controller for a vehicle is equipped with a steering microcomputer 4A which determines the driving direction and the driving torque of a dc motor 9 for steering assistance according to the steering of a steering wheel and outputs the direction signal and the torque signal for the dc motor 9 for the assisting steering on the basis of the driving direction and the driving torque. Further, the controller for a vehicle is equipped with a microcomputer 24A which outputs the brake operation signal of a wheel according to the wheel speed signal and the brake detection signal and determines at least the drive direction of the dc motor 9 for assisting steering according to the steering of the steering wheel and outputs the direction signal for the dc motor 9 for assisting steering on the basis of the driving direction. The dc motor 9 for assisting steering is driven according to the direction signal and torque signal only in the case where the direction signals outputted from the microcomputers 4A and 24A accord.</p> |
