A storage skip has an associated compacting system (3) which comprises a cylinder (6) defining a transfer chamber (7). The transfer chamber communicates with the interior of the skip through a front opening (8). A piston (9) slides inside the cylinder, and is activated by a motor (10) and a waste-loading hopper (11) located above the transfer chamber. The waste is introduced into the transfer chamber through an opening (12) in the upper wall (13) of the cylinder and is pushed inside the skip by the piston. There is a waste suction device (4) comprising a suction chamber (20) for supplying the hopper. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables waste compacting freed from waste bags.
