Monoclonal and genetically engineered antibodies which react with P190, a protein associated with anthracycline resistance are disclosed. The P190 reactive antibodies are useful in determining anthracycline resistance and purification of P190. P190 and antibodies reactive therewith are useful for screening P190 antagonists.
