<p>The device for purifying spent oil is a separator having a horizontal section (2) with a discharge (10'') for the purified spent oil and at least one vertical section (1). In the vertical section (1), a feed pipe (3) for spent oil heated to 60 to 90 DEG C, preferably 70 to 85 DEG C, dips into a water bottom (4). In the water bottom (4) the major part of the sludge present in the spent oil is precipitated. In front of the discharge (10'') leading downwards from the horizontal section (2), a screen filter (10) of copper wire is preferably provided, where the remainder of the solids still present in the oil is precipitated. The discharge (10'') for the purified spent oil can be adjoined by a further clarification vessel (11) for precipitation of the remainder of the sludge which may have remained in the oil. Expediently, both sections (1, 2) of the separator are heated. The separator consisting of the two sections (1, 2) is preferably in the shape of a knee; that is to say the vertical section (1) branches off downwards from one end of the horizontal section (2). <IMAGE></p> |
