HERBICIDALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES AB-5046-A AND-B AND THEIR PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide new herbicidally active substances for such weeds as Cyperus microiria, Digitaria adscendens, Setaria viridis or barnyard grass, nontoxic for the other microbes and animals, thus hopeful as safe herbicides with low environmental pollution. CONSTITUTION:The objective herbicidally active substances: AB-5046-A substance of the formula (R is n-propyl) and AB-5046-B substance of the formula (R is methyl). These compounds can be obtained from a cultured product which is produced by culture of the microbes capable of producing the above substances and belonging to Nodulisporium [e.g. Nodulisporium sp. AB-5046 strain (FERM P-13066)].
