PURPOSE:To obtain the subject ink excellent in delivery stability, reliability, light resistance, water resistance and fretting resistance, suitable for ink jet printers etc., comprising a pigment, specific water-soluble resin, hydrophilic organic solvent and water. CONSTITUTION:The objective ink comprises (A) pref. 2-12wt.% of a pigment such as carbon black, (B) pref. 0.1-5wt.% of a watersoluble resin 1000-10000 in number-average molecular weight and 1500-30000 in weight-average molecular weight containing a cationic group-contg. monomer and at least one kind of monomer selected from styrene compounds and alkyl (meth)acrylates, (C) pref. 30-40wt.% of a hydrophilic organic solvent such as methyl alcohol, and (D) pref. 30-80wt.% of water. It is preferable that a recording be conducted by imparting a recording liquid using this ink with thermal energy according to recording signals to deliver the recording liquid as droplets through a fine hole. |
