A method for processing a silver halide color photographic material comprises processing a silver halide color photographic material with a bleaching solution, wherein the bleaching solution contains an iron(III) complex salt of a compound represented by the following formula (I), the silver halide color photographic material has at least one silver halide emulsion layer having a silver iodide content of 1 to 30 mol%, the total coating weight of silver is 2 to 6 g per m<2> of the silver halide color photographic material, and the sum total of the dry thicknesses of hydrophilic colloid layers exclusive of back layers is 12 to 20 mu m: <CHEM> wherein R1 to R6 each represents a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a hydroxyl group; W represents a bonding group; and M1 to M4 each represents a hydrogen atom or a cation.
