Security system to detect photocopying of e.g. banknotes

The system incorporates a digitally coded image into the banknote during manufacture. The coded image is invisible to the naked eye. If fraudulent attempts are made to copy such an image, the digital scanner in the photocopier detects the code using Fourier transformation techniques.
