<p>A fuel dispensing nozzle (20) is disclosed and includes a housing (21) having a hollow main body portion (22) and a handle portion (23) with a hand-grip spaced from the main body portion, an elongate nozzle body (30) mounted in the main body portion, main valve means (31) disposed in the fuel passageway, manually operable valve actuating means (131), a spout (70) having three integrally formed passageways therethrough comprising a fuel passageway (71), a vapor recovery passageway (72) and a shut-off, venturi-vacuum passageway (73), a vapor recovery passageway through the main body and handle portions of the housing, attitude responsive means (180) for preventing the opening of the main valve when the nozzle is not in the proper attitude and attitude responsive valve means (91) in the vapor recovery passageway in the housing for closing the vapor recovery passageway. The housing and nozzle body are molded of a composite resin and the spout is extruded of a lightweight metal.</p> |
