摘要 Separate removal of S cpds. (I) and CO2 from gas comprises redn. of the S content to max. 3000, pref. max. 1500, esp. up to 1000 ppm catalytically and then to less than 10 mg/cu.m over doped activated charcoal (II); followed by removal of CO2 to a residual content less than 10(wt.)%, pref. between 0 and 5%, by pressure swing adsorption ( USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is used for purifying synthesis gas and (synthesis) gas contg. H2S (claimed). H2S and CO2 are removed without costly scrubbing stages, in which both are removed at the same time and must be sepd. selectively from the solvent. Since no solvent is used, there is no solvent emission. No gas stream is recycled in the desulphurisation stages, which increases the economy, and S is obtd. as prod. in both stages.
