PURPOSE:To attain a video conference in which information can be satisfactory and easily transmitted by enlarging the photographed video of plural participants to a vertical direction, and attaining a conversation with the other side at a wide picture angle. CONSTITUTION:A light made incident through a lens 101 on an image pickup element 102 is photoelectric-converted, synchronized with a horizontal scanning pulse supplied from a timing pulse generating circuit 103, voltage-converted, and outputted. The output signal from the image pickup element 102 is converted into a video signal by a video signal generating circuit 104 which operates a well-known processing such as a gamma-correction, the obtained output video signal is enlarged to the vertical direction by an electronic zoom signal processing circuit 105 controlled by a circuit 103, and the outputted video signal is inputted to an encoder 107 in an encoder 106. Next, the encoded video signal is inputted to a transmission I/F circuit 110, and applied through a current line 114 to the other terminal equipment 113. Then, the signal from the other terminal equipment 113 is inputted through the line 114 to the circuit 110, decoded by a decoder 108, and displayed at a monitor 109. |
