PURPOSE:To improve workability and accuracy, and also, to provide the liquid crystal light valve of a small-sized shape by forming an incident side polarization filter and an emitting side polarization filter to a liquid crystal panel by allowing them to adhere closely thereto. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal light valve 50, a liquid crystal panel 51 to which an incident side polarization filter 53 and an emitting side polarization filter 54 are allowed to adhere closely, a condensing lens 52, and plate glass 55 are provided in an optical box 90, and a closed space part formed between the liquid crystal panel 51 and the condensing lens 52, and between the liquid crystal panel 51 and the plate glass 55 is filled with a cooling liquid 56. That is, by the cooling liquid 56 which is filled in the closed space part, a temperature rise due to the polarization of the incident side polarization filter 53 is suppressed. |
