The information recording appts. includes a rotatably driven plate (4) for the disc. The disc is irradiated with an electron beam in a vacuum atmosphere. A magnetic screening housing (13) prevents the magnetic fields of the electric motor from leaking out. The motor drives the plate on which information is recorded. The magnetic screening housing is in a housing (11) which supports a vacuum. A positioning appts. (12) is disposed between the plate and the electron beam radiation source. Relative movement is created in a direction parallel to the recording surface of the plate. ADVANTAGE - Low power consumption, highly accurate information recording. Reduced frictional resistance, using air bearings instead of oil. No risk of vacuum container becoming contaminated with oil.
