Rudder mounting for boat with outrigger - is held by adjustable clamp on mast and positioned by sheet for change of direction
摘要
The outrigger (17) remains on the same side of the boat and the change of direction is obtained by changing the direction of the hull. This requires a change in the position of the rudder which is held on a clamp (4) mounted on the mast. The rudder shaft is secured by a bearing (11) slung between the outrigger boom and the hull on sheets. The clamp is released by a sheet (12). The rudder is released simply by opening the clamp and changing the rudder direction and reclamping. The top of the rudder shaft has a ball joint which is pulled between the sprung clamping jaws of this clamp. The clamp position on the mast is adjustable. USE/ADVANTAGE - Boat with outrigger has simple adjustment of rudder position to simplify tacking by changing direction of movement of boat.
