PURPOSE:To expand the dynamic range by providing digital signal processing unit and a D/A converter so aa to reduce the nonlinear distortion of the speaker thereby correcting the nonlinearity of the speaker. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic of the speaker 30 becomes nonlinear at a large input and this characteristic is expressed approximately in Equation 1 of th n-th order, where x is an input voltage and (y) is the amplitude. Then a signal from a signal source 13 passes throgh an LPF11 and converted into a digital signal by the A/D converter 15. Then the signal is subject to nonlinear correction by using a digital signal processing unit 16 according to the characteristic of Equation 2 where the x, y are replaced in Equation 1. Then the signal corrected by the unit 16 is converted into an analog signal by the D/A converter 17 and reproduced from the speaker 20 through an LPF18. |
