PURPOSE:To provide a recording device which reduces an invalid recorded area progressively and records data at high resolution and high speed and without resultant price increase in a monochromatic or a color interlace recording method. CONSTITUTION:The recording device is composed of a group of recording elements 406, buffer memory 403 which stores data as image data, a processing means 404 which selects image data which is suitable for the arrangement of the recording elements from buffer memory and supplies the selected recording element to a processing means 404, and a control means 405 which controls a main scan and a subscan using the group of recording elements. The control means repeatedly scans data in a subscan direction by data equal to P dots' interval the number of (K-1) times each time a main scan of the groups of recording elements is performed, and scans data in a subscan direction once by data equal to S dots' interval as recording operation. |
