SOCKET CONTACT STRUCTURE AND LIGHTING FIXTURE

PURPOSE:To provide a socket which ensures electric connection between the rear end of a base and the center contact piece by making a round hole in the center of the center contact piece. CONSTITUTION:A round hole 33 is provided in a center contact piece 29 to scrape off an oxide film at the rear end 7a when the base 9 of a lamp 1 is threaded into a threaded hole 27a in a cylinder 27. By threading the base 9 into the threaded hole 27a in the cylinder 27, the lamp 1 is mechanically mounted on and electrically connected to a socket 23. When the base 9 is further turned in toward the center contact piece 29, the oxide film formed on the partial silver portion at the rear end 7a of the base 9 is rotatingly scraped off at the opening edge of the round hole 33 so that the partial silver portion and the opening edge of the round hole 33 in the center contact piece 29 have mutually linear contact. It is thus possible to improve an electric connection between the rear end 7a of the base 9 and the socket center contact piece 29 in reliability.
