CONNECTOR OPERATED BY FLUID PRESSURE

PURPOSE: To provide an electric connector utilizing the pressure of a fluid. CONSTITUTION: This electric connector 10 is for mutual connection of electric circuit members on the opposite to each other by employing an intermediate housing 23 on which a pair of flexible circuit members 27, 29 possible to be expanded to provide necessary connection are arranged. The circuit members are expanded by applying a pressurized fluid to the housing in a properly expanding manner. Such a fluid (a liquid or a gas) may cool the mechanism during expansion work. The conductive parts 33 of the flexible circuit member 27, 29 possible to be expanded are electrically connected by employing a common circuit element 35 (for example, a thin insulator having rows of opposed conductive members on the upper face). A means to align respective electric circuit members connected with the electric connector is also installed.
