<p>PURPOSE:To provide a discharge lamp having a base facilitating accurate centering and being small sized by constituting a base portion so as to arrange coaxially a cylindrical body or a columnar body having an external connection electrode on the tip thereof inside the cylindrical body having an external connection electrode face on the peripheral surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:The base 3 of a discharge lamp 1 is composed of a cylindrical body 21 made of insulating material having an external connection electrode 23 face on the peripheral surface thereof, and a cylindrical body 22 having an external connection electrode 23 on the tip portion thereof. The cylindrical bodies 21, 22 have a center axis jointly and are arranged so that the luminescence center of a luminescence tube 6 is positioned on the extended line on the center axis. Thereby, accurate centering is facilitated, and it is possible to downsize the discharge lamp and to mount the same to a socket surely.</p> |
