The steel laminate gasket for an ic-engine has at least one hole (Hc). The gasket comprises a first plate (C10) having at least one hole (C10a) corresponding to the hole of the engine and at least one bead (C10b) situated around the hole (C10a). A second plate (A11) is situated under plate and a support (C11b,H16) which is smaller than bead and is situated beneath thereof so that, when the gasket is tightened, the support abuts against and supports the bead.As a result, the gasket can provide strong, even sealing pressure over a wide band round the hole.The support is integral to second plate which may include additional bead supported by further bead on first plate.
