PURPOSE:To obtain a pigment dispersion in which reduction in the viscosity is contemplated by improving the dispersion of pigment particles, by kneading a blent of a vehicle resin, a specified soluble azopigment, an org. solvent and hydroxynaphthoic acids. CONSTITUTION:A vechicle resin, a soluble azo pigment whose coupler is hydroxynaphthoic acids and an org-solvent are used as main components. 1-20pts.wt. (per 100pts.wt. said pigment) hidroxynaphthoic acids are incorporated therein and the blend is kneaded. Said soluble azo pigment is those which require beta-hydroxynatphthoic acid or low alkyl-, alkoxy- or halogen- substd. beta-hydroxynaphthoic acid. A typical example thereof is Brilliant Carmine 6B. Preferred examples of the vehicle resin to be used for the pigment dispersion are rosin resins, nitrocellulose, etc., which have an excellent effect on pigment dispersions having a high pigment content. |
