The cable 2, at one end of which the connector is fixed, is wound over the larger part of the periphery of the drum 6 and is fixed at its other end to an arm 12 pivoting about the axis 7 of rotation of the drum 6. The spring returning the drum 6 into the clockwise direction is stronger than that returning the arm 12 in the same direction. The pivoting arm 12 is housed in a cell 11 of the drum 6 and carries an articulated, angled lever 17, the end 18 of which is engaged in a notch 22 of the drum 6. Continuous traction ensures complete withdrawal of the cable, the drum then being held in the corresponding position known as "armed" by the ratchet 24. A further traction, even if slight, applied to the cable, upon disconnection, causes the automatic disengagement of the ratchet 24 and the efficient rewinding of the cable 2. The invention applies especially to automatic rewinding of electrical connectors mounted under aircraft.

|
