PURPOSE:To provide a poultry feed improved in the degree of pigmentation for yolk. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a 10N NaOH aq. solution is added to a culture fluid resulting from culture of Phaffia rhodozyma (IFO 10129 strain) in a liquid medium to adjust the liquid culture to pH12.5 and then leaving the system to stand at room temperature for one hour, and the resultant system is neutralized with hydrochloric acid followed by separating the microbes in the system using a centrifugal separator. Then, the microbes are dried using a spray dryer and then put to alkali treatment at an astaxanthin concentration of 0.33ppm to obtain Phaffia rhodozyma microbes. The microbes thus obtained are added to a poultry feed to obtain the objective feed with 13.2ppm astaxanthin level. |
