<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for surely joining a thin wall pipe by utilizing a joint made of shape memory alloy, namely the method which is simple in execution and can highly reliably join the thin wall pipe since threading and welding are difficult for joining a thin wall stainless steel pipe. CONSTITUTION:The end parts of pipes 2, 3 to be joined are taper-machined, and a tapered shape memory alloy joint 1 is inserted inside an opened bore and heated for joining them. Since any of too large or small slope of a tapered part is inconvenient, the slope of the tapered part is set up within a range about from 1/200 to 1/10, preferably from 1/150 to 1/50. Thus, even if the pipes 2, 3 to be joined have a difference in their outer diameter and a dent, they are reformed during taper-machining to form a joined state having extremely high reliability.</p> |
