SYNDIOTACTIC POLYSTYRENR BIAXIALLY ORIENTED FILM

摘要

PURPOSE:To manufacture a biaxially oriented syndiotactic polystyrene film of good handling characteristics regardless of the thickness of film. CONSTITUTION:A syndiotactic polyester biaxially oriented film of superior handling characteristics is composed substantially of a styrene polymer of syndiotactic structure, and the orientation ratio found by the following formula is 0.6 or less, and the distribution of crystallites in the preferred angle direction evaluated by using crystal diffraction peak at 20.6 deg. in wide angle X-ray diffraction is not divided in the vicinity of the maximum value by holding only one peak. The orientation ratio = Ax/AyAx : 1.222cm<-1> band strength Ay when the polarized direction of infrared rays conforms to the width direction of film: 12220cm<-1> band strength Ax when the polarized light of infrared rays conforms to the longitudinal direction of film.
