PURPOSE:To provide the honeycomb body which has excellent vibration resistance and heat resistant strength and is economical by applying a welding means and brazing means in combination to the desired contact parts of members constituting the honeycomb body for purification of exhaust gases to be used for carrying catalysts for purification of exhaust gases. CONSTITUTION:This honeycomb body for purification of exhaust gases is the honeycomb body A consisting of a corrugated sheet-like band material 2 or this corrugated sheetlike band material 2 and a flat planar band material 1. The desired parts of the contact parts of the band materials constituting this honeycomb body A consist of joined parts W1 by welding and at least joined parts B1, B1, by brazing filler metals around the joined parts W1 by welding.
