PURPOSE:To simplify constitution and production, to reduce production cost and to enhance reliability in a distance measuring device for an automatic focus camera. CONSTITUTION:An light receiving lens 2 and a printed circuit board 3 are attached to a holder 1. A sealing frame 6 is provided to the surface opposed to the light receiving lens 2 of the printed circuit board 3 and an optical sensor 4 is provided within the space 3c surrounded by the frame 6 and a distance measuring IC 5 is mounted by face bonding to be sealed by a protective resin 7. The resistor R and condenser C of a distance measuring circuit are mounted on the opposite surface of the printed circuit board 3 and the patterns on both surfaces of the printed circuit board 3 are connected through a through-hole to constitute the distance measuring circuit. The protective resin 7 permits light with a specific wavelength to transmit and the light from an object is detected by an optical sensor 4 and, on the basis of the detection data, the distance up to the object can be calculated. Light is not incident on the surface 5a of the IC 5 and no erroneous operation is generated. |
