The valve body (2) has an input pipe (4) and output pipe (6). A sliding magnetic rod (14) has an outer sliding tube (24) on which is mounted a shutter (26) with a central hole (28). The end of the rod has a protruding cone shaped section (27) which can block the central hole in the shutter. The magnetic rod assembly slides in a passage (8) which joins the input and output pipes. When a solenoid (16) around the magnetic rod is switched off, the rod is pushed upwards by a spring, closing the hole in the central shutter, and pushing the shutter upwards, to completely block the top section of the passage, stopping the fluid flow in two stages. Switching on the solenoid reverses the process by pushing the magnetic rod downwards. ADVANTAGE - Does not need minimum fluid pressure to open valve.
